Cat Hart (they/them) is an artist living on the unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skxwú7mesh (Squamish) & səlil̓wətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations, also known as Vancouver, British Columbia. A settler originally from the UK, they have called these lands home for the last 20 years.

Cat’s work explores belonging, place, migration, and biodiversity. Influenced by Indigenous teachings about good land relations, alongside the deepening climate crisis, Cat seeks to develop a site-responsive, ecologically accountable art practice. Their interest in local histories and materials comes from a desire to be deeply connected to place.

Cat’s work has been shown at Surrey Art Gallery, Richmond Galleria, Contemporary Calgary, Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery, and the City of Vancouver’s Launchpad Public Art program. They hold a Masters in Communications from SFU and a diploma in Fine Arts from Langara.
